Andorran Companies in Action: Humanitarian Aid for Valencia
Andorra, a small European country known for its natural beauty and commercial opportunities, is also distinguished by the solidarity of its companies in times of crisis. In response to the situation in Valencia, various Andorran companies have initiated humanitarian aid efforts. Here, we explore seven examples of these supportive companies.
Andorran Police
Initiative: The International Police Association in Andorra set up a collection point in Ordino to gather personal hygiene products and cleaning tools, such as shovels and gloves.
First Shipment: A first trip was scheduled to deliver the donations to Valencia.
Sideco Constructors and Ensinet Cleaning Services
Initiative: These companies organized the collection of materials, loading four vans and a trailer with essential products that were sent to the municipalities of Paiporta and Torrent.
Treballs Públics La Coma
Initiative: Brothers Miquel and Marc Font, along with their company, sent heavy machinery, including excavators, to Massanassa, one of the areas most affected by the DANA, to assist in cleaning and recovery.
Red Cross Andorra
Initiative: A team of Andorran technicians and ambulances traveled to Valencia to assist in support tasks, facilitating the transfer of individuals to medical centers and collaborating in the emergency response.
E.Leclerc Andorra
Initiative: The supermarket chain reported a significant humanitarian delivery effort, sending aid to Valencia and adapting to the complicated logistical conditions in the affected area.
Family Cash and Pyrénées
Initiative: A solidarity truck from Pyrénées sent a shipment of water and milk to the Valencia region to help the population affected by severe flooding due to the strongest DANA recorded to date.
Collaboration: In collaboration with TraldisPorta, up to 33 pallets of water and milk were sent. The merchandise, especially water, is one of the most needed products in the area, given that the supply is interrupted and much of what is available is not potable.
How People Can Help from Andorra
- In-Kind Donations: Collaborate by donating personal hygiene products, cleaning items, non-perishable food, and clothing. Local organizations have established collection points to coordinate these donations.
- Monetary Donations: Make monetary donations to humanitarian aid organizations that are sending support to affected areas.
- Volunteering: Participate as volunteers in local initiatives that organize collections or aid shipments.
- Awareness: Share information about aid initiatives on social media to increase visibility and mobilize more people to participate.
- Community Organization: Join community groups or associations that are organizing support efforts, enhancing coordination of resources and needs.
The Andorran community has once again demonstrated its capacity to unite in times of need. The various solidarity initiatives that have emerged in response to the DANA in Valencia not only reflect the generosity and commitment of businesses and individuals in Andorra but also reinforce the sense of community and mutual support.
Every action, no matter how small, counts and can make a significant difference in the lives of those who are suffering. From the collection of materials and food to participation in events like "CORREM PER VALÈNCIA," we can all contribute to alleviating the suffering of our neighbors in Valencia.
We encourage you to join these initiatives, to do your part, and to spread the word so that more people get involved. Together, we can create a positive impact and help rebuild what has been lost. Solidarity is a fundamental pillar of our society, and let us show that Andorra stands together in adversity!
